Thank you for sharing your daughter with the Tau chapter of Sigma Delta Tau at The University of Texas at Austin! Throughout her time here at UT she will have many ups and downs, victories and defeats, good times and bad; and we'll be here for her through it all. Sigma Delta Tau provides a home away from home for young women as they strive to better themselves through higher education, sisterhood and service. We pride ourselves on our values of Individuality, Connection, Engagement and Community to help raise each other up and support each other on a daily basis.
Academic achievement is a major focus of our organization both at UT and across the U.S. Every member is required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to remain in good standing, and we provide multiple resources such as tutoring and an academic library at our suite.
We also pride ourselves on our philanthropic efforts for Prevent Child Abuse America and Jewish Women International. We hold one major event in March every year and an annual "Trick or Treat" bake sale on Halloween to raise money to prevent child abuse. Locally, we facilitate a program called "Empower YOUth" to teach middle school age girls about emotional health, conflict resolution and real life skills to empower them to take control of their future.
Everything we do for our sisters and our community here at UT wouldn't be possible without your constant support. Thank you for all that you do for your daughters every day, and we are eternally grateful for the opportunity to know and love each young woman we welcome home.
